Harvest usually runs from early March to early June each year.
-
We grow two astringent varieties - Nightingale (Hachiya) and Yemon. These are the first to be ready in early autumn.
The sweet, crunchy varieties start around Anzac Day each year. We grow Fuyu, Swane’s and Suruga.
All persimmons sold at our packing shed are grown on our two family properties in Galston and nearby Arcadia.
-
We currently don’t grow anything else for sale. During the off-season we have a well-earned rest to recover from the intensive harvest period.
-
Yes, we have sessions for pick your own Fuyu (sweet, crunchy variety). See our Pick Your Own page for more information.
-
We accept cash, card and bank transfers. There is a small surcharge for card payments.
-
No, sorry, we do not have public toilets. These closest ones are less than 2 minutes drive away near Liquorland/Aldi or behind Galston Library (see directions).
-
If you a Pick Your Own customer, you may have picnic with prior arrangement only and will depend on other sessions and bookings for that day. However please note that we do not have public toilets.
Alternatively, Fagan Park is a wonderful 50+ acre park nearby and is well worth a visit. There are BBQ and picnic facilities, playground, toilets, lake, gardens from around the world and a coffee cart (on weekends). Parking is $6/vehicle.
You could also visit Galston Recreation Reserve (Hayes Oval) which includes BBQ and picnic facilities, playground, toilets and a circular walking/bike riding track. Free parking.

The farm is temporarily CLOSED to the public until March 2025.
